My name is Ira Jekowsky. My wife, Deborah, and I have recently relocated to Sarasota from the Washington DC area. Our daughter Lauren is a freshman at the University of Tampa. I bring over 35 years of public and private sector management, business development, financial, procurement, and information technology experience to SCORE. My 25-year public sector career ended in 1997 when I retired from the Senior Executive Service of the Federal government. I served with distinction at the General Services Administration, NASA and the Federal Quality Institute. I spent the next 10-years in the financial services industry working for MasterCard, Bank One, Chase, and GE Capital. Before relocating to Sarasota, I spent the last few years as an independent consultant providing business development and management consulting services to small businesses in the Washington DC area. I worked with clients to grow their business by: shortening sales cycles, limiting marketing costs, and providing structured approaches to clients messaging, sales, and management processes. I specialized in business planning and management control systems. I was an Education for Public Management fellow at Harvard University earning an MPA. I also hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Rhode Island.
